STUDY SKILLS

Good study skills are the key to success in school. Research shows that the students with the best grades are not the ones who spend the most time studying, and they are not the ones with the highest IQs; they are the students with the most effective strategies. Not all study strategies work well for all people. Sometimes one strategy is not enough to get you through. You will need to try a few strategies to find out which combination works best for you and your brain. After a test, quiz, project or assignment, reflect on the strategies you tried and how well they seemed to work. Do you need to tweak things a little next time or try something completely different? It may take a few tries to identify how you learn best, but once you figure it out, you will be set.

To help you improve your study habits, I've assembled some useful resources below, but will also recommend a YouTuber named Thomas Frank. He has his own channel and podcast that cover a TON of topics related to improving your study skills. He is also the host of Crash Course: Study Skills.  He focuses on performing well in college, but most of his tips apply to high school too, so I have linked to his material and a few other useful sites below:
